Sky wins Multiple Awards! The goal of this project was to add a new front portico that provided functional protection in a stylistically sensitive manner, but with a little flourish. Keying off the existing roof forms, period styling, materials and design cues from the home, a solution emerge. The special touch is in the introduction of the barrel vault and the finish details. Far from appearing like an addition, the stylistically sympathetic yet engaging design seems to both complement and complete the home's facade... as if it was always meant to be. Since 1993, The Chrysalis Awards have honored the finest remodeling projects in the nation that reflect the professional excellence of the residential and commercial remodeling industry. Blue Sky is proud to be the award winner for 2007 Residential Specialty. Go to Chrysalis Award site -
